Take advantage of Military discounts - often 10% at Home Depot, Lowes, etc.
If you or any blood relative in your immediate family-mother, father, sister, brother-has served in the military, that person can join USAA. You don't have to buy anything just join. They name you as their relative and YOU, too then have lifetime access to USAA insurances.
Note: I got my Dad to join back in 2016, and then I was eligible to be a USAA member and USAA car insurance saved me $900 per year on me new BMW car insurance premium.
EATING OUT: You'll see a link below that will identify dozens of restaurants that offer 'senior' discounts. Zagat survey, states the average cost of dining out is $36.40. Eat out once per week and you are spending $1,892 per year. Getting a 10% savings on those meals, knocks down your average cost and saves you $189.29 - that you get to keep in your pocket (and that just for 1 person!). Savings compound when its more than 1 person, eating out more often or frequenting more expensive restaurants.

43+ Year Financial Industry Expert
Debra draws on her four decades of financial expertise, including her Master’s Degree in Retirement Planning where she partnered with clients to chart their financial plan and managed their assets accordingly, on a Fee-Only Fiduciary basis. She holds the Accredited Estate Planner designation which arms her with specialty knowledge that helps her clients and their families KEEP more of their hard-earned estates, leaving rich legacies.
She has since retired from active financial planning and asset management and now serves as the Founder and Chief Navigating Officer of Women Navigating Finances.
As a financial coach, she’s equally passionate about alerting women to pitfalls to avoid as well as charting, and then navigating, each woman’s finances.
She strategizes with her growing number of coaching clients to either accumulate maximum wealth or, once retired, enjoy an inflation-adjusted lifetime income stream so that they can still afford to buy higher priced goods and services as they age.
Together, Debra and each client, discuss both how to avoid financial perils while at the same time effectively manage known and unknown risks, not the least of which is increased longevity, to better ensure financial security.
